Bataka-Sabudana Ni Tikki (Potato-Sago Tikki)

Bataka-Sabudana Ni Tikki (Sabudana Vada) is one of famous fast/vrat recipe. It is easy to made and tastes delicious. Sabudana and potatoes are widely used ingredient during fasting. Like other sabudana recipes, this batata sabudana tikki is crispy, delicious and can use as snacks.

It served with Yogurt chutney, green chutney. You can add more vrat ingredient in it also.

Bataka-Sabudana Ni Tikki (Potato-Sago Tikki)

Ingredients

  1. 4 potatoes
  2. 1 cup Sago balls (Sabudana)
  3. 1.5 tbsp Starch powder
  4. ½ tsp Black pepper powder
  5. 1 tsp Sugar powder
  6. 2 tsp Lemon juice
  7. 2 tsp Ginger – garlic paste
  8. 2 tsp Red chili powder
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

Wash sago balls and drain water from it.
Sprinkle water on sago balls every 30-45 minutes for 4-5 times.
Wash and cut potatoes.
Now heat water in a cooker and cook potatoes for 4—5 whistle.
When it cools, peel potatoes and mass properly.
Mix potatoes, sago balls, starch powder, ginger chili paste, salt, black pepper powder, sugar, red chili powder.
Mix properly and make medium balls from this mixture.
Slowly press all balls with you palm and make tikki.
Heat oil in a pan at medium flame.
Fry 5-6 tikki till it becomes golden brown in color.
Repeat for other tikki.
Serve with green chutney, curd chutney and sauce.

    You can also make these with mogo or cassava then you don’t need to have any starch. What is sago made from
