Doodh Pak

Doodh pak is festival sweet. Doodh pak is Gujarati rice pudding and prepared during Diwali or other special occasions.

Ingredients

  1. 1 Litre full fat Milk
  2. 2 tbsp Basmati Rice
  3. 1 tbsp Ghee (half for grease the pan + another half for mix with rice)
  4. ¼ cup condensed Milk
  5. ¼ cup Sugar
  6. 1 tbsp warm Milk
  7. 1 tbsp Almond (grated)
  8. 1 tbsp Pistachio (grated)
  9. 2 tsp Charoli / Chironji
  10. 1 tsp Cardamom powder
  11. 1 tsp Nutmeg powder
  12. 4-5 strip Saffron (soaked saffron in milk) (Optional)

Instructions

Wash and soak rice for 25-30 minutes in normal water.
Grease the pan with ghee.
Add milk in a pan.
Heat it to medium flame.
Drain water from rice and mix ghee in rice.
When milk is boiled, add rice in it.
Stirring continuously at low medium flame.
When rice is cooked, add sugar in it. Mix it well.
After that add condensed milk. Stir well.
Now add almond, pistachio and charoli.
Cook it for 5 minutes, now mix cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and saffron milk.
Let's keep it cool.
Doodh pak is ready to serve.
Generally doodh pak is served with puri, as sweet or Gujarati Thali.
Our sweet is ready to eat.
You can cool it in a refrigerator for 2-3 hour and serve as dessert.

Notes

Serve with Roti, Puri, Gujarati thali or as Desserts.
