Gujarati Dalwada (Moong Dal)

Gujarati Dalwada is scrumptious crispy Gujarati rainy snacks. Dalwadas are knows as pakoras, fritters. Dalwada with chai makes your rain moments perfect.


Gujarati dalwada is most tasty rainy snacks. During rain, dalwada is most preferred snacks, specially in Ahmedabad.


Dalwada is not only tasty but healthy recipe also. It is source for energy and healthiness. Dalwada with fried chili and onion add extra taste in dish.

Gujarati Dalwada (Moong Dal)

Ingredients

  1. 4 cup Moong dal
  2. Oil for frying
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1 tbsp Green chili paste
  5. 1 tbsp Lemon juice (optional)
  6. 1 tsp Ginger paste
  7. 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  8. 1 tsp Baking soda or Fruit Salt
  9. Water according to requirement

Instructions

Soak moong dal for 1-2 hour.
Drain water from it.
Add water and salt in dal.
Grind it coarsely in a mixture jar.
Add baking soda, chili paste, lemon juice, coriander leaves and ginger paste.
Mix it properly.
Batter should be thick.
Heat oil in a pan at medium flame.
Put wada in oil with finger or spoon.
Fry wada till it becomes crispy and light golden in color.
Serve hot with Lemon Chutney, Mint Chutney, date chutney and fried chili and onions.
