How to Make Bhakri

Bhakri is coarser roti, often used in Gujarati Thali or Gujarati daily meal. Bhahri can be soft or harder according person’s choice. Bhakri can serve as both breakfast and dinner. Bhakri also called farmer’s food.

Normally bhakri serves with vegetables, curd, chutney, pickles and chilies. Bhakari is easy to made, easy to digest and notorious food. It is staple food so, high in fiber and protein.

Bhakri – gluten free recipes

Ingredients

  1. 250 gm Wheat flour (Coarsed)
  2. 1 tbsp oil
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Water according to requirement
  5. Desi Ghee or Butter

Instructions

Take flour in a bowl.
Mix oil, salt, add water slowly and stirring it till dough start to come together.
Keep stirring; add more water if dough is still dry. Dough should form a ball. it should be hard.
Now knead the dough and divide in to medium balls.
Roll out each balls in to 5-6 inches. it should not be very thick or thin.
Cook bhakri both side till it becomes golden brown.
Now bhakri is ready. Smear it with ghee or butter.
