Thick Poha Chivda is quick, tasty and delicious Gujarati snacks. During festivals, we often made this thick poha chivda. There are many variants of poha chivda and you can add many more ingredients like dry fruits in it.

Homemade chivda always tastes more better and more delicious.

Thick Poha Chivda


  1. 150 gm Rice flakes (Pauva)
  2. 50 gm Ground peanuts
  3. 5-6 Curry leaves
  4. 1 tbsp Fennel seeds
  5. 2 tsp Turmeric powder
  6. 1 tbsp Sugar powder
  7. 2 tsp Amchur powder
  8. ½ liter Oil for frying
  9. Salt to taste


Heat oil in a pan at medium flame.
Fry peanuts at slow flame in hot oil.
Keep a side also fry one cup rice flakes in that oil.
Repeat for other flakes and keep a side.
Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and add curry leaves and fennel seeds in it.
Also add turmeric powder and mix with flakes and peanuts.
Stir well, also mix salt, sugar powder and amchur powder.
Thick poha chivda is ready to eat.
