Shakkariya No Shiro – Sweet Potato Fasting Recipe

Shakkariya no Shiro (Sweet Potato Fasting Recipe) is popular Gujarati fasting recipes. During Shivrati or on fasting day, shakkariya no shiro is most common fasting recipes. Shiro is served with Sukhi Bhaji.

Shakkariya No Shiro – Sweet Potato Fasting Recipe

Ingredients

  1. 5 Shakkariya (Sweet Potatoes)
  2. 4 tbsp Sugar
  3. 4 tbsp Ghee
  4. 3 cup Milk or Milk Cream
  5. 2 tsp Cardamom powder
  6. 2 tbsp Almond (chopped)
  7. Water according to requirement

Instructions

Wash and steam sweet potatoes in a steamer for 20-25 minutes.
Till it become very soft.
Remove skin from it, and mass sweet potatoes properly.
Take pan heat ghee in it and add sweet potato, sugar and milk in it.
Stir well till ghee is evaporated.
Now add cardamom powder in it.
Garnish with almond.
Shiro is ready to serve.
