Bharela Gunda nu Athanu (Bird Lime Fruit Pickle) is delicious Gujarati seasonal pickle. This stuffed tangy pickle tastes delicious with traditional and daily Gujarati and Kathiyawadi dish. Here I am trying to make Stuffed Gunda Pickle in Kathiyawadi ways from which I am.
Bharela Gunda nu Athanu - Stuffed Bird Lime Fruit Pickle
Ingredients
- 500 gm Gunda (Bird Lime Fruit)
- 250 gm Raw mangoes
- 250 gm Achar Masala
- Oil according to the requirement
Instructions
Wash gunda and keep aside.
Heat steamer and steam gunda for 5 -10 minutes at slow flame.
It should boil carefully. It should not over boiled or under boiled.
Now take out gunda from a steamer.
Once it cools down, Gently remove seeds from gunda.
Do not split them into two parts.
Now wash and grate mango in a bowl.
Gently drain water from water with our palm.
Add achar masala and mix it with grated mango.
mix properly. Now Stuffing is ready.
Now fill this stuffing in gunda and press with hand carefully.
Repeat for all gunda and arrange in a glass jar.
Heat oil till it becomes slightly warm.
When oil becomes cold, pour into the jar till it deep.
Gently press gunda with a spoon to remove air in between oil deep gunda.
Store jar in a freeze.
We can serve gunda achar after 5-6 days.
Serve with any regular dish.
