Tameta nu Shaak (Tomato Curry) is tangy, spicy and delicious Kathiyawadi recipe. It’s also called farmer’s veg. Normally during winter, tameta nu shaak used more.
Tomato curry is quick and easy to made nutritious recipe. It’s normally serves with Khichdi, Rotlo or Bhakri.

Tameta (Tomato) nu Shaak is famous kathiyawadi veg. It is variant of Kathiyawadi Sev tameta nu shaak.
Ingredients
- 250 gm Tomatoes
- ¼ cup water
- Seasoning
- 2 tbsp Oil
- ¼ of Mustard seeds
- ¼ of Cumin seeds
- Pinch of Asafetida
- 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- 1 tbsp Cumin coriander powder
- ¼ tbsp Turmeric powder
- 5 Garlic cloves – fine chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 Bay Leaves (Optional)
- 3-4 Curry Leaves (Optional)
- 1 Dry chili (Optional)
Instructions
- Wash and tomatoes and chopped into small pieces.
- Heat oil at medium flame in pan.
- Add chopped garlic cloves.
- When garlic becomes golden, add mustard seeds. When it sputtering, add cumin seeds.
- Add turmeric powder and tomatoes. Stir them well.
- Now add red chili powder and salt according taste.
- When tomato cooked, add water.
- Cook for 5 minutes at medium flame.
- Serve hot with rotala, roti, Bhakhari and khichadi.
