Vaghareli Khichdi
Vaghareli Khichdi or Seasoned Khichdi is variant of Gujarati Khichdi. It is delicious and simple daily meal in Gujarat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rice
- ½ cup Mung Dal
- ¼ cup Toor Dal
- 1 medium size Potato
- 1 medium size Onion
- 2 tbsp Oil
- ¼ tbsp mustard seeds
- ½ tbsp Chili paste
- ½ tbsp Ginger paste
- ½ tbsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- ¼ tbsp Garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 5 cup water
- 5-6 Curry leaves
For seasoning
Instructions
Mix rice and mung dal and toor dal.
Wash it very well.
Soak mung dal, toor dal and rice for half an hour.
Drain water from it. Keep side.
Peel potato, onion and cut in to small pieces.
Heat oil in cooker at medium flame.
Add mustard seeds and curry leaves in it.
When it is splutter, add onion, potato, chili paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt and garam masala.
Now add rice, mung dal, toor dal in it.
Stir it properly.
Add water in it.
Lid the cover.
Cook for 7-8 whistle. Khichdi is ready for serve.
Serve with curd and butter milk, kadhi.
